Dan Funderburgh, a personal favorite of mine, showed some new work at Eyelevel BQE a few weeks ago. The pieces were utilitarian objects - paste bottle, chain ring and the like, that were created in illustration board then laser engraved. Funderburgh has an amazing ability to create super intricate patterns and layer them together. Looking closely at his work you'll always find hidden imagery that tells a story about the project.
